Leadership
In addition to the many leadership programs and services that Carleton University has to offer, the Sprott School of Business boasts many unique and tailored opportunities to help you develop the leader within!
Who can be a leader?
ANYONE! Whether you are in first year or final year, many of our programs are open to all students. We highly recommend that you consider getting involved in at least one extra-curricular activity outside of your academic program each year, ensuring that you maintain balance between your academic, social and extra-curricular activities. This will allow you the chance to meet new people, develop new skills and perhaps even give back to the Carleton or greater Ottawa community.
Get Involved, Get Recognized
Programs, activities and leadership initiatives at Sprott earn you the right to add your involvement to your personal Co-curricular Record. Check out some of the opportunities below or visit our complete list of leadership programs.
Mindtrust Leadership Program
The Mindtrust Leadership Development Program (MLDP) is a six-module leadership development program. Students gain practical, hands-on leadership experience through real-world examples and workshops facilitated by award-winning program leaders and CEOs from some of Ottawa’s most successful high tech firms.
Junior Achievement Program
In partnership with Ottawa Network for Education (ONFE), the Sprott Junior Achievement Program provides students with meaningful volunteer opportunities by teaching Business Basics to grade 5 students in local schools. The program offers participants the opportunity to develop their organizational, leadership and public speaking skills, while building a network of Sprott students, and industry professionals.
The Fund@Sprott
The Fund @ Sprott is an actively managed equity portfolio run by a select group of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of International Business students. The money is real, the experience is real, and the output is real hands-on money-managing experience.
