Performance standards
To successfully complete this program of studies, participants must be prepared to commit time and effort both during and between classes. Time between sessions is required for completion of pre-session readings and assignments. Readings and assignments are compulsory and they form the basis for discussion and activities in the classroom. Students must pass all assignments to complete the program successfully and earn the certificate.
Certification and credit
Graduands receive a certificate of successful completion, awarded by the Centre for Research and Education on Women and Work, Sprott School of Business, Carleton University. Graduates of the program who register in an undergraduate degree program at Carleton may apply for 2 undergraduate credits (4 one-term courses). Details may be obtained from the Program Director.
Admission requirements
Participants must have worked three or more years in:
- first line or higher levels of management, or
- a professional position, or
- a position which provides management preparation skills; AND
- must be sponsored by their employer, or by someone in an organization who is familiar with the candidate’s work and career goals.
- All applicants are considered. Emphasis is placed on the sponsor’s assessment of the candidate’s potential. Educational background is not a deciding factor.
Sponsorship
Sponsors are expected to provide support and guidance for participants to complete the requirements of the program. A Recommendation and Agreement to Sponsor statement identifying the areas in which the candidate requires further training, and an appraisal of the candidate’s potential for advancement in management must be submitted by the sponsor.
Tuition Fees
The Centre for Research and Education on Women and Work is accepting registration for the Management Development Program for Women. All Applicants will be considered once acceptance criteria has been met and whose completed application, resume, sponsorship statement, and deposit are received.
In all cases, the Management Board may conduct interviews to solicit additional information as required. Qualified applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the class is full.
