Centre for Information Technology, Organizations, and People

Established in January 2010, the Centre for Information Technology, Organizations, and People (CITOP) is a strategic research unit within the Sprott School of Business that is dedicated to helping organizations better understand and manage the interrelationships between technology, organizations and people.

At CITOP, we strive to better understand the affordances of information technology in the context of organizational features (strategy, structure, systems, and processes), managerial intent, and the impact on people (roles, work-life, and well-being among others).

Our research activities encompass three phases: developing theories, hypotheses, models and frameworks; applying, and where possible, empirically testing these in practice through close cooperation with business, governments and other organizations; and transferring knowledge to practitioners, students and scholars.
