Dates, Deadlines & Policies
The following schedule contains the dates prescribed by the University Senate for academic activities. Dates relating to fee payment, cancellation of course selections, late charges, and other fees or charges will be published in the Important Dates and Deadlines section of the Registration Website. The academic year is divided into three terms:
August 31, 2011
Payment Deadline Date for your entire student account (fee payment). Late charges may be applied to the student account any time after this date. For more information on tuition fees, please check the student accounts website.
Graduation
Students who are in their last term of registration, and are expecting to complete degree requirements must apply on-line through Carleton Central for Graduation by the appropriate deadline. Graduate Studies must receive the application by the following deadlines:
- September 1 (for Fall Graduation)
- December 1 (for Winter Graduation)
- February 1 (for Spring Graduation)
Note: Students that need another term of registration and miss graduation must reapply for the next graduation.
Students who are graduating must also complete and return the following forms to the MBA Graduate Aministrator Room 310C Dunton Tower

| September 5 | Statutory holiday, University closed. |
| September 6-9 | Fall term begins.MBA Orientation Week – Attendance and completion of Orientation Week in the fall term of admission is mandatory for new full time students. |
| September 12 | F1 MBA classes begin. |
| September 21 | Registration closes. Last day to add F1 & F2 MBA courses. Ensure you have registered in both F1 & F2 sessions by this date. Students who have not yet deposited two (2) final copies of their thesis/project in the office of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research must register. |
| September 24 | Last day for entire fee adjustment when withdrawing from fall term or two-term courses. Withdrawals after this date will create no financial change to fall term fees. |
| October 8 | University Day at Carleton. Undergraduate classes suspended. |
| October 10 | Statutory holiday, University closed. 8, MBA classes normally held on this day are rescheduled. |
| October 21 | F1 MBA classes end. |
| October 24-28 | Exam week, MBA no classes but exams may be held and papers due. |
| October 31 | F2 MBA classes begin. |
| November 12 | Last day to drop F2 MBA courses. |
| December 1 | Last day to apply online for winter (February, no ceremony) graduation.Last day for submission to the thesis supervisor of six (6) examination copies of Master’s and Ph.D. theses/project for Winter graduation. |
| December 5 | Last day to pay any remaining fall tuition fees to avoid a hold on access to marks through Carleton Central and the release of transcripts and other official documents. |
| December 9 | F2 MBA classes end |
| December 12-16 | Exam week, no MBA classes but exams may be held and papers due. Important note: Monday classes may be held on December 12. |
| December 25-31 | University closed. |

| January 13 | Registration closes. Last day to add W1 & W2 MBA courses.Ensure you have registered in both W1 & W2 sessions by this date.Students who have not yet deposited two (2) final copies of their thesis/project in the office of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research must register. |
| January 31 | Last day for entire fee adjustment when withdrawing from winter term courses or winter portion of two-term courses. Withdrawals after this date will create no financial change. |
| February 17 | W1 MBA classes end. |
| February 20 | Statutory holiday. University closed |
| February 21-24 | Exam week, no MBA classes but exams may be held and papers due. Some MBA IDMG courses may continue during exam week. |
| February 27 | W2 MBA classes begin. MBA and IDMG 12 week courses continue. |
| March 1 | Last day for receipt of applications from potential Spring (June) graduates. Last day for submission to the thesis supervisor of six (6) examination copies of Master’s and Ph.D. theses/project for Spring (June) graduation. |
| April 5 | W2 MBA classes end.Last day to pay any remaining balance on your Student Account to avoid a hold on access to marks through Carleton Central and the release of transcripts and other official documents. |
| April 11-15 | Exam week, no MBA classes but exams may be held and papers due. |
| April 22 | Statutory holiday. University closed. |
| May-August | Internships begin |
