NIBS Competition

The Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) is a group of business schools from around the world which believe that the internationalization of business and the globalization of the economy are essential elements in the evolution of managerial practices.

With the recent achievement of Accreditation by NIBS, the Sprott School of Business is pleased to support sending a team of four students to the 2009/10 NIBS Academic Case Competition which will be hosted by The International Business Academy, Kolding, Denmark in March 2010.

Eligibility Criteria for Team

  • The Competition is open to any student registered, for the duration of the competition, in the Bachelor of International Business degree program at the Sprott School of Business.
  • You must be in your 3rd or 4th year of the BIB program OR BCOM program with a concentration in International Business, program with a minimum OCGPA of 8.0 or higher to be considered.
  • You MUST be available on all of the dates and times listed below for participation in the practice sessions and competition itself (if we make it to the final round), which is taking place in Denmark from March 5-12th approximately .
  • NOTE: IF, and only if, the team succeeds in the Qualifying Round of the competition, will it proceed to Denmark for the final Championship round.

Selection Process

Students selected to go through the application process will then be invited to a practice competition to assess your skills, strengths and compatibility with your potential team mates.  This interview process will take place on Friday, October 16th, no exceptions.

The Team

Once the team of four is strategically selected, they will work closely with an academic advisor who will take them through a rigorous series of practice case sessions in similar format to the final round of the competition. Training will be provided to the team.

Costs to Participate

The Sprott School of Business will be covering the costs for all travel and registration related expenses associated with the competition.
