Leadership Programs
Everyone has the ability to be a leader but sometimes you just need the right opportunity to get involved and a strong support network to help you cultivate those leadership skills.
The programs and initiatives below have been designed to allow you to take an active leadership role and/or to be trained, in various leadership activities and environments. Many of these activities are ‘for the students by the students’ meaning that they are peers helping peers or learning from peers.

Mindtrust Leadership Development Program
Students gain practical, hands-on leadership experience through real-world examples and workshops facilitated by award-winning program leaders and CEOs from some of Ottawa’s most successful high tech firms.
Sprosh – Sprott Orientation Week
A jam-packed week of events offering a dynamic mix of social and academic initiatives that is open to all Carleton students, but is specifically tailored for new students in the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of International Business programs at the Sprott School of Business.
Sprott Mentor Program
The Sprott Mentor Program is designed to ease the transition from high school to university for incoming first year students. It incorporates both academic and personal support throughout the year with the goal of enhancing students’ first year experience.
Peer Helper Program
The Peer Helper Program (PHP) is designed to facilitate personal and professional growth for all students using a model of peer-to-peer learning in which students learn with and from each other.
Sprott Student Ambassador Program
Created to provide enthusiastic Sprott students with meaningful volunteer opportunities, the Sprott Student Ambassador Program offers participants the opportunity to develop their interpersonal and public relations skills while at the same time building a personal network of staff, faculty, students, and industry professionals.

Junior Achievement Program
In partnership with OCRI, the Junior Achievement Program provides Sprott students with meaningful volunteer opportunities by teaching Business Basics to grade 5 students in local schools. The program offers participants the opportunity to develop their organizational, leadership and public speaking skills, while building a network of Sprott students, and industry professionals.

The Fund @ Sprott
The Fund @ Sprott is an actively managed equity portfolio run by a select group of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of International Business students. The money is real, the experience is real, and the output is real hands-on money-managing experience.
