More Business Courses Now Open to All Undergraduate Students
The Sprott School of Business has opened up more business courses to all Carleton undergraduate students. Students enrolled in degree programs outside of business can now take courses from a number of core business areas that include: accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, international business, marketing and business information and communication technologies.
In addition to the Minor in Business, Sprott offers the Minor in Entrepreneurship – ideal for students interested in running their own business.
BUSI Courses Open to All Undergraduate Students (except Business)
- BUSI 1001 – Principles of Financial Accounting
- BUSI 1002 – Management Accounting
- BUSI 1003 – Survey of Accounting
(Please note: Not open to Financial Economics Concentration)
- BUSI 1402 – Introduction to Business Information and Communication Technologies
(Please note: Not all sections are available as some are set-aside for BCom only. Carleton Central will indicate which sections are for Business and which ones are for the entire student body.)
- BUSI 2204 – Basic Marketing
- BUSI 2503 – Basic Finance for Non-Business Majors
- BUSI 2701 – Fundamentals of International Business

Minor in Entrepreneurship
The Minor in Entrepreneurship launched in Fall 2011. It does not replace the Minor in Business; it is an additional minor.
It has the same admission rules as the Minor in Business. Only students pursuing an undergraduate program requiring at least 20.0 credits to graduate and who have completed at least 4.0 credits towards their degree with a minimum Overall CGPA of 7.0 may be admitted to the Minor in Entrepreneurship.
